Matthew Klippenstein

A chemical engineer by training, Matthew Klippenstein worked in the fuel cell and renewable energy consulting sectors before his current role with the Fraser Basin Council’s Plug In BC initiative, administering the province’s EV infrastructure rebate program. He has tracked the Canadian plug-in electric vehicle market for the past six years (see CanadaEVsales.com) and has authored or contributed to several energy-themed policy papers, including a white paper for McKinsey & Company on the future of energy.

He envisions clean energy technology helping Vancouver surpass Calgary as Canada’s #2 business capital by 2030 — leveraging infrastructure projects such as LNG Canada as test beds to deploy solutions, attract head offices, and grow local startups into globaltitans.
