Autumn Cousins is the Lead, Regulatory Strategy and Environmental Compliance at Ecofish Research Ltd. with over 15 years of regulatory experience in provincial and federal governments working on high profile projects. She has over 12 years of experience working in the natural resource sector in British Columbia in a variety of roles, all of which included consultation and engagement with Indigenous groups. Autumn has wide ranging experience resolving conflict, relying on her skills in strategic analysis, relationship building, communication, persuasion and finding common ground. She specializes in bridging the gap between industry, governments, Indigenous groups, technical advisors and special interest groups.
Autumn has extensive environmental assessment (EA), compliance/enforcement and regulatory experience in a variety of types of resource development. Immediately prior to her move to consulting, Autumn worked as the Director, Compliance and Enforcement at the Environmental Assessment Office. In her compliance and enforcement role, Autumn focused on a collaborative approach with other government agencies in efforts to coordinate oversight of major projects such as run-of-river projects, wind farms, Site C, pipelines, transportation projects, Jumbo Glacier Resort, etc. Her work focusses on strategic issues resolution, EA, Indigenous consultation and engagement, management plan development and implementation, compliance oversight and enforcement, effective construction environmental management, etc. With a strong network in the provincial government and creative approach to issues resolution, Autumn supports clients in developing a robust regulatory strategy and navigating regulatory processes.
